I was wondering where SwiftUI came from, when I happened upon a page about QML, which looks pretty similar. Did Apple just steal Qt's idea? Or did they both borrow the idea from someone else?

      Hi,

QtQuick's initial release was in 2010 and SwiftUI in 2019 so I would venture that SwiftUI had no influence on QtQuick.

@whatabout Nowadays making gui with scripts is very popular. You can use java script to make gui as well

        Qt: QML
        Apple: SwiftUI
        Android: Flutter.

You will do well if you know any of them well.

@SGaist said in Is Apple's SwiftUI just a copy of QML?:

I think @whatabout thought the other way because of even this reason... if possibly Apple "copied" from Qt's QML to design SwiftUI.
But I also doubt it :)

@Pl45m4 It's often said that Apple doesn't invent anything, but they just improve upon what others have done.
