How to switch license on a machine with a defunct account?

I have a machine with an expired Qt account linked to an email account that no longer exists. I want to change the account linked to that machine but the maintenance tool does not allow me to enter a new Qt account and password, it just reports "Please use the original credentials for this installation." However that account is defunct and cannot be recovered... How do I switch the associated account?
