    Hi Everyone -

Is there a known way to enable QML Mediaplayer / Video playback to work from a 5.15.2 build on M1 Macs?

Obviously it works with projects converted to Qt 6 / CMake, but in 5.15.2 while we get audio playing, the video appears as a black rectangle. I've read the bug reports on this, but didn't see a workaround posted.

    Thanks in advance!

      Hi,

Can you link the relevant bug reports ?

This is where I started - it's commented that a workaround was found, but I can't locate any info on that. I wonder if it's only fixed in the commercial updates to 5.15?

I think it's the comment from Tor on the 21 Jun 21 at 23:23.

But it looks like it might not be the panacea following the other answers.

You might want to try the Qt 5 release from KDE which has a series of additional patches (no guarantee that they have the ones you need though).

Thanks for the tip - yeah I looked through the report and while the OP thanks Tor for his workaround I don't see the workaround he's referring to.

I will probably just aim to migrate these projects as needed to Cmake / 6.2.

            Thanks again.
