License question for using an application internaly.

Hi.

I am working in a large company of 1000+ people.
I want to develop a tool for internal use only using QT.
My questions are:

Assuming this tool is only used internally for product development and validation, which type of license do I need? Can I use the GPL license?
We outsource some work for a team abroad. If I want to allow them to use this tool, which type of license do I need?
Again, this tool will never be released or be seen outside of the company.

To the best of my knowledge, you can use GPL knowing that anybody whom you provide the binary can ask for its sources.

If by abroad you mean subcontracting work to a different company then the same GPL rules apply. If you want to keep the sources within your company then you should rather go with LGPL.
