Adding 3rd party "stuff" to Ubuntu
-
Up front - this has been asked before ...
Finally managed to restore my QT - my HDD "smoked" - using QT installer.
As always it started by missing 3rd party software.
Just because did went up in smoke my "add library notes"...So - the question is - is there "one fits all " resource to install these 3rd party libraries - such as latest Bluetooth etc.
YES I can ask Mrs Google for individual libraries, but - there could be a single "how to add 3rdf party software to QT" somebody knows about - to share. -
Hi,
There's no need for latest and greatest. Qt is built to use librairies that works on the oldest supported platforms.
You have in the Qt documentation the requirements for the modules you want to use.
There's not' "one fits all" because depending on your distribution, the package name may change.

If you are using the version of Qt that is canned into Ubuntu then apt-get will intelligently install the required libs based on the Qt config Ubuntu packagers used. That's the whole reason for package managers...to avoid dependency hell.

@Kent-Dorfman if the app QT Inc painstakingly builds and DOESN'T WORK alone - without all the ""dependency hell " who is loosing money NOT stating that up front ? ( " Inmates are running the asylum..." )
After downloading the latest 6.2.2 I still cannot find HOW to for real install "minor dependency hell " - QT bluetooth module
sudo apt install qt5-default ???
PS
Whys should I care that version QT 0.0..0 works in dos 3.1. ? -
