Introduction in Qwt

  • Hi,

I'm looking for any tutorial in internet for introduce to me Qwt libraries.

I was seeing the examples, but it is very confuse in majority of cases. I don't understand how the construct of many classes works, because this error keeps showing up:

error: allocating a object of abstract class type '<some_qwt_class>'
note: unimplemented pure virtual method '<some_variable>' in '<some_qwt_class>'

For many ways a tried of contruct a new object of some classes of Qwt.

    Best Regards,

You are trying to create an instance of an abstract class (a class with pure virtual methods). This is not possible. You have to subclass this class and implement all pure virtual methods and use this class instead of the abstract class.

  • @jsulm Thanks for reply.

I didn't know this behavior of the Qwt Classes. Thanks for explanation.
But i'm still looking for introductory material to support me, even though of some classes depending only my implementation.

This is nothing Qwt specific, it's part of the C++ basics.

As for tutorial, there's a nice online book that is in German but the author claims that online translator should give you a good enough result in your own language.
