Gdb-arm-none-symbianelf.exe fails during on-device debugging.
-
Hello,
I have been routinely debugging applications on device with 4.6 via Qt Creator 2.0.1 on Windows XP with a Nokia 5800.
Recently I upgraded the firmware V51.2.007. I am suspicious of this new firmware because Ovi Suite can’t install the supporting software.
With the release of 4.7(and Mobility 1.1.0 beta II), I have switch to it. Unfortunately, gdb-arm-none-symbianelf.exe fails during on-device debugging with 4.7. An exception occurs very early in the startup sequence for debugging.
The application being debugged installs and runs fine manaully or via Qt Creator.
Serious problem. So I wanted to report it. There are a lot of moving parts. I was hoping to get some guidance on how I can develop a short, reproducible testcase for a bug report and hopefully a workaround. Any suggestions?
Thanks,

Hi John,
Just to be sure, you reinstalled TRK after the firmware upgrade, right?
To produce a test case, try to reproduce the problem with a small code and describe the steps you do until the debugger error happens. Oh, yeah, if gdb says any error message, it can be useful. Providing a sis package of this small test case is a good idea too.
If you have any doubt about your testcase, post it here. When we identify if it is a bug and which part is causing it, you'll be able to write a better bug report :-)
