    Is there any way to save QTextToSpeech output as a wav file? I have experimented with QAudioRecorder with limited success via an external audio mixer, but the resulting audio has extremely low volume. Is there any way to record speech without the use of an external mixer?

      Hi and welcome to devnet,

      It does not look like you can do it directly. Maybe the engine used can offer that but you will have check in the implementation.

      Out of curiosity, can you explain why you need that recording ?

        @SGaist Thanks for the response. The recording will be used to provide reports to someone who wants to listen to reports while driving instead of reading them.

          So you want to preprocess some files rather than reading it live ?

            @SGaist Yes, exactly.

            It looks like the plugin would have to be modified to add this functionality, or I'd have to find a plugin with this capability that is compatible with Qt. Is that an accurate assessment?

              Recording is indeed not the goal of this module.

              Either you implement that yourself as part of the QtSpeech module or maybe use a different library that allows for generating audio files directly.
