Qt Design Studio - Qt Bridge for Figma

Hi,

I am highly interested in using Figma Design Tool for UI development and export my assets on Qt Design Studio.

Based on this post on Qt official documentation it seems that a Qt Bridge for Firma is officially available.

But where I can donwload this Qt Bridge for Figma ? It's free or I should buy the extension like Photoshop and Sketch ? Is it possible to acquire the Qt Bridge for Figma by purchasing this extension below from Qt Marketplace ?

Also, where I can find the Manifest.json file described on this article? It's located at specific directory or something else?

Hi,

From the market place entry, it's included in the commercial edition of the tool so if you are using the free version, you'll have to buy the plugin.

Would like to try the Bridge for Figma as well.

From the market place entry, it's included in the commercial edition of the tool so if you are using the free version, you'll have to buy the plugin.

I'm using the free version so it seems like I would need to buy the plugin. However, on the marketplace, the plugin features only describe Sketch and Adobe XD https://marketplace.qt.io/products/qt-design-studio-bridge

Can anyone confirm that Figma bridge is included?

From the official Qt Design Studio documentation it seems that Qt Bridge supports Figma but it would be nice to be confirmed before purchased from @SGaist and @Thomas-Hartmann . I suppose that Marketplace Qt Bridge extension notes are not updated with the recent changes.

And just a note to be clear from your post that Qt Bridge does not support Adobe XD but supports Adobe Photoshop.

Indeed the marketplace link is dead now for some unspecified reason.

@Thomas-Hartmann it has changed something on the Qt Design Studio Bridge plugin usage or license? Or just temporary link inactivity?

yes, indeed the Qt Brigde is now part of Design Studio Enterprise which price is extremely high and not affordable at all. It's really really very frustrating Qt's decision to change the pricing and licensing model on this product without at least keeping the marketplace option.

@Thomas-Hartmann please re-consider the pricing and/or licensing model on Design Studio Enterprise because it's a frustrating decision and not affordable for many developers and companies.

Yes this Figma Qt Bridge is a Development plugin and is now only available if you have a Qt Design Studio license. It has to be installed via Figma and browsing to...

Plugins > Development > Import Plugin from manifest.json file, browse to where Qt has been install on your system, the manifest.json file can be found in...

Tools > QtDesignStudio > figma_bridge

I have got this far, but I am unable to set the Export File path from Figma. If anyone out there is using this plugin I would be grateful to know how you retrieve / locate the generated .zip file that contains the .metadata file for importing the UI design layout into Qt Design Studio?

What version are you using?

When you click "Export", you should get a pop-up dialog asking you to specify the path and filename of your data.

Hi There @JKSH I am using Qt Design Studio 2.3.1 for some reason Qt Online installer will not install higher even though in my account Downloads list it shows 3.2.0 in the dropdown? As for Figma, I am not sure, I have uninstalled and reinstalled a newly downloaded version of their Desktop App?

A pop-up dialog does not appear when I click "Export"?

Previously, there was only 1 level of the Qt Design Studio (DS) commercial license. However, there is now a differentiation between Qt DS Professional and Qt DS Enterprise: https://www.qt.io/blog/simplifying-the-commercial-licensing-portfolio

Qt Bridge 3.x and newer are only available under Qt DS Enterprise, so it sounds like you have a Professional license.
