Losing edits in my posts

@Chris-Kawa
Umm, where exactly is "when you go to the post menu and select "Edit history""? I don't know where you mean. If you mean the "..." vertical to the right of my posts, where I can Edit, I don't see any "post history"....? Nor from any of the buttons?EDIT Whoops I found it, hang on....
Yep, I get 15 revisions on https://forum.qt.io/topic/109276/how-to-refresh-qtableview-after-an-sql-commit/18 . I get 8 revisions for the problematic https://forum.qt.io/topic/108860/losing-edits-in-my-posts/9 above. I'm not yet convinced they are right, though, they may be being subjected to wrong-caching too....

@Chris-Kawa
I'm giving up now. The post I have made immediately above and edited is subject to the same problem. I cannot even post here without losing or not losing my edits on & on, it's taking me the whole morning to keep refinding what I have done which sometimes shows and sometimes not, it;s too frustrating to even type replies any more, but thank you. -
@Chris-Kawa
I think the post history is correct. I'm not certain though whether when I view each one sometimes that itself is subjected to caching problems and shows different, I don't know. -
And finally, when I do look at https://forum.qt.io/topic/109276/how-to-refresh-qtableview-after-an-sql-commit/18 post even now an hour on, it's random whether I see what (I hope to be) the final, up-to-date version with all the edits or some older version without. I refresh on & on and it just varies what it shows.....!!!

...and the same for my edits on this page...
I'm making a new post reply each time because seemingly I do get to see these without problem, unlike editing.
I really am going now... !
@AndyS , or @Chris-Kawa
I hope the above might give you some clue. I'd be really grateful if someone gets a handle on this, it's crazy! -
Right, final post! :) I think a further useful clue.
I'd say my Edit history is correct, in that it shows the right number of revisions at the right times.
However, as I click through those revision contents, sometimes they are correct, sometimes I think they all show the same content, probably the unedited original or an early one. So they too are subject to the caching or whatever issue. And when the real page is correctly showing the latest edits the whole history contents are correct too. When the real page is incorrectly showing some old content, each of the revisions all show the same single old content too.

@JonB I have been discussing this and the general problem with IT here and we are confident we have the cause of the problem. That wa swhat we attempted to fix last time but the problem was that the fix meant the server had problema managing the load. So they are trying to figure out what we can set it to so that it solves the problem and also allows it to manage the load.
I will be away for a few days but we should have a plan ready to try again shortly which hopefully gets it working in all aspects again.

@AndyS
So I see the latest announcment:Planned maintenance has been done but it did not solve the problem. So work will continue on this and a new time for trying updates will be announced asap.
This is not great :( So.... is there anything which can actually be done to get back to the forum where it used to work without any of these problems? It's all very well saying the upgrade was needed for "security", but months later we still have a dysfunctional forum in its place....
All said in the politest way, I know you are doing your best.... !

We already know what to try next, but this requires help from IT to get it right, I am waiting for input from them about it before I can try that. But it is not possible to downgrade and even then it might not help, the problem is mainly down to how we have set up our load balancing, it triggers the cache issue with NodeBB so we are trying to find the right settings that get it working without breaking the forum entirely. I have been able to confirm that it is the cause of the problem, but only the production one has the best way of showcasing the actual load so we have to be careful with making changes.

Thanks, I wish it hadn't gotten into this situation, but hopefully we will have this sorted out ASAP
