Can SSD drive with VM increase debug speed in QtCreator?

This question can look strange and offtopic. But it is significant for all who make 32/64 bit apps for Android. Now I create 64 bit apps but I cannot check them working on device. I have not plans to buy 64 bit gadget. But it is possible use VM. I tried with VM on conventional HDD - it is useless. Too much slow. Here I wanna ask anybody who used 64 bit VM with Android 9 - is it really faster than HDD? Is it possible debug or at least test apps on this? Which one hardware config, OS and VM you use? Especially I am interested in answers from people who use (K)Ubuntu 18.04 LTS.
