QTquick for Android?
-
I saw the bus app and wonder if i could write such for many devices including Android and maybe even iphone?
Thanks
PS: I only own a HTC Desire, could I debug without devices for all others? -
Although not officially supported, Qt (and Qt applications) can be built for "Android":http://labs.qt.nokia.com/2011/02/28/necessitas/ and "iOS":http://developer.qt.nokia.com/forums/viewthread/1759/.

Thanks, so i could develop a desktop application (win/mac/linux) with qtquick? and even deploy that later for android/ios etc.? I'll have a look at qtquick then.

Yes. That's what Qt is about ;-)

You just have to considder if you think a GUI designed for desktop use makes sense on a phone, on the other way around...

You can run it on Android just now, but iOS will be possible later only (if ever will be, AFAIK there are some problems with AppStore policies). Necessitas works fine wtih QML.

One of the reasons I am getting into Qt - plain awesomeness ! Thanks to BogDan and the community for developing this

I agree. Cross-platform development and android development, all in "one" framework. This is truly some great stuff. I wish more people were aware of it.

To my understanding development for iOS is only "technically possible" as you'd have to statically bundle nearly whole Qt into your app resulting in a huge binary.
