MSVC 2022 and Qt Add In 3.5.0 causes full rebuild on _every_ file change due to forward slash in .props file
-
Hello,
it seems I have no access to add comments to this bug report: https://qt-project.atlassian.net/browse/QTVSADDINBUG-1346
- MSVC 2022
- Qt Vs Addin 3.5
- Qt 6.8.2
In my test project whenever I change a single .cpp file, the full project rebuilds. This didn't happen with Qt Vs Addin 3.4.x
The reason for me was usage of forward slashes in property files (.props). I have to use backward slashes, otherwise some sort of folder comparison fails:
bad:
<SOLUTION_DEPLOY_DIR>$(SOLUTION_BUILD_DIR)_deploy/</SOLUTION_DEPLOY_DIR>
good:<SOLUTION_DEPLOY_DIR>$(SOLUTION_BUILD_DIR)_deploy\</SOLUTION_DEPLOY_DIR>With the forward slashes, the detailled build info shows that some sort of hash is added to qmake which forces a rebuild of that exact file (happens for every file):
2> *** Previous command line: '/c /I"F:\mylib\BUILD64\TEST\DEBUG\QT\QMAKE\87CA77C47A214EBAB7EE1919FEF4C6A1" ... 2> *** Current command line: '/c /I"F:\mylib\BUILD64\TEST\DEBUG\QT\QMAKE\05501C2D095D4908AE5DACE0410DF89E" ... 2> Source "someClass.cpp" doesn't match previous command line.EDIT: The .cpp file is not included from anywhere. No dependencies at compile time.

Hi and welcome to devnet,
Did you already follow this pinned thread about accessing the bug report system ?
In between, I updated the bug report with your findings but don't hesitate to try again and add more context as needed.
