Installing open source using online installer on MacOS
-
Is it me or is QtCompany making installation of open source Qt harder? It starts with finding the installer on the website.
Then the installer tells me that I don't have valid commercial license. Fine, I don't care.
Next installer tells me that at least one repository is needed to continue. Do I really have to add a repository manually?! -

Which version of the installer do you have ?

It looks like there's something amiss with the installer. I got to the selection page however no Qt 6 available at all but the 4.6.0 version of the Maintenance Tool seems to show them correctly.

@jsulm I agree. I have attempted to download Qt for macos several times using the installer and the download speed is under 100kbps! I think this is being done to discourage the use of opensource Qt!
They do offer a small business/startup license for $499 if the business makes less than $250,000/yr but they require ongoing verification to qualify. They also want you to disclose what type project you are working on! That’s too much required info IMO! If I pay to use the sotware, it’s none of their business!
They don’t seem to offer any license for an individual that is not a business owner!

No, some mirrors are slow. But you can select a faster one, see https://wiki.qt.io/Online_Installer_4.x "Selecting a mirror for opensource".

Exact same behaviour on Windows with 4.6.0 installer.
For me the installer is useless... -
@jsulm looks like a wider issue. I would check the bug report system and open a ticket.
