I requested a group called maemo some 24hours ago. I saw it was not created so I assume it was rejected. Can you confirm?
l think maemo group will be reject, because we have "Mobile deveopers" group now
I saw that... It was created after I requested maemo.
I still would imagine that we have room for more specialized groups (maemo, meego, symbian)... You can join as many as you want anyway... -

Oh...I am sure... I didn't mean to say that I was somehow cheated :) that is why I had "It was created after I requested maemo"

Hey, let's wait till next week, I think also the Trolls have sometimes weekend, right? I think they will work on your request and create the group aor advice you to move that topic to the mobile group.
-
Now, that's a bit weird. I have rejected some groups and gave an explanation why I did so in the comment field. The system should have sent an email to the member requesting it. fcrochik, no email to you at all?
To explain that special case: I have approved the Mobile Developers group. For now, we want to keep the groups somewhat generic. That avoids fragmentation and loads of special groups with small amounts of members. As we grow, this approach will most likely have to change, but we're not quite there yet.
-
Update: I talked to Gurudutt and there was a simple misunderstanding. Maybe my specs were not as clear as I thought they were...
Anyway, there will be emails sent out to users requesting any of the features related to groups that tells them what the decision was, if there was any, and the reasons. That should limit the confusion. ;)

Alexandra,
No, I did not get any reply.I understand the idea of not trying to fragment too much. At the same time, maemo is such a "unique" platform that maybe could use its own group. My hope was to help more of the maemo/qt developers to join devnet but I have to say they (we) are very spoiled by our own "exclusive" community/web site maemo.org and won't be "very easy" :)

I just fixed this part so if any request is rejected by system admin, then system will send email to the person who have made the request and in some cases all group owner will also receive email.

How many points do I need to create a group?

You need Robot Herder rank to request a group. Note that not all requests will automatically be accepted. -

What does mean the following:
But be careful! Points expire after 12 months. So it is better to keep going ...At the beginning of each year,i'm lab rat again?
-
No, of course not. Points earned expire a year after the points were gained, not once every year. That means that points earned on April 4, 2011 will expire on April 4, 2012.
-
Thank you, now it is clear.
-
hi everyone.
If i requested group at 28 nov but still not get any email message
is that mean - i do some thing wrong and i should resend request?
or it is normal for 3 days? -
You should have a bit of patience. Alexandra is in the US for the San Fransisco edition of the Developer Days. She normally handles such requests. Give it another week at least (she'll need some time to catch her breath and catch up with other requests and tasks).
-
Yes of course
i just didn't know :) -
It was not meant in a berating way, sorry if it sounded like that. I understand you did not know this.
