I'm trying to follow these instructions:

    https://doc.qt.io/qtcreator/creator-project-qmake-libraries.html

When I get to step 4:

"Follow the instructions of the wizard until you get to the Project Management dialog. In the Add as a subproject to project list, select a project. For example, myapp."

The "Add as a subproject to project" menu is empty. I tried adding the new library project to an app project folder and I tried adding the new library project to the parent folder of an app project folder, but the menu is empty in both cases.

    Any help will be appreciated.

      Hi and welcome to devnet,

You should add which version of Qt Creator you are using as well as version of Qt for your project.

I'm using Qt Creator 4.5.2 and Qt 5.9.5. I just purchased "Application Development with Qt Creator 3rd Edition by Lee Zhi Eng and Ray Rischpater" and the examples are going well. There's a chapter on adding a library, so hopefully I'll get the answer to my question by following the examples. I'll post any successes here.

These two versions are a bit outdated. Would it be possible to upgrade ?
