what options do I have?
Install older QtCreator version: https://download.qt.io/archive/qtcreator/
-
@SPlatten it takes hours to download and attempt installation, why isn’t there some documentation to say what versions are for what version of operating system?
-
@SPlatten Hours? The MacOS build is about 200MB big. There is probably somewhere documentation, but I don't know where.

@jsulm , going around and around in circles, just downloaded another installer:
https://download.qt.io/archive/qtcreator/4.14/4.14.2/qt-creator-opensource-mac-x86_64-4.14.2_installer.dmgIt doesn't come with any kits and doesn't include the MaintenanceTool either, what use is that?

DISCLAIMER: I don't have any MacOS experience (event any Apple device!).
The purpose is to have a working IDE!
==> You can try to build your own Qt kit from source or take an offline installation package => https://www.qt.io/offline-installers -

You downloaded QtCreator installer. Of course you do not have any Kits - for those you have to install also Qt...

@jsulm , neither does it come with the maintenance tool, so you can't download a kit either.
@SPlatten You don't download a Kit.
Again: you downloaded QtCreator offline installer and it contains exactly that: QtCreator, nothing more (also not maintenance tool).
To get a kit you have to install Qt. Either use Qt Online Installer or a Qt Offline Installer.
QtCreator != Qt
