    @SPlatten Well, you are calling windeployqt.exe from 64bit Qt installation, that means it will copy Qt libs and plug-ins from that 64bit Qt installation.

    @jsulm , ok, will edit and remove _64....I remember now, I tried this before, but I get:

    This app can't be run on your PC
    To find a version for your PC, check with the software publisher

    The OS is Windows 10 Enterpise Version 10.0.19041 Build 19041, x64-based PC.

    Kind Regards,
    Sy

      @SPlatten make sure to remove already copied files, the tool only checks for file names, IIRC, and won't overwrite the 64 bit dlls with 32 ones

        @J-Hilk, removed content of deploy folder, leaving just the executable, still can't run the 32 bit version of windeployqt.

        Kind Regards,

              I created a batch file to make life easier:

              @echo off
              @echo Qt Deployment
              SET VCINSTALLDIR=C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 14.0\
              SET QT5.9.2=C:\Qt\Qt5.9.2\5.9.2\msvc2015_64\bin\
              %QT5.9.2%\windeployqt.exe --dir .\install .\deploy\trngServer.exe

              The output when running this:

              C:\Users\simon\Documents\application>deploy
              Qt Deployment

              The deploy folder I created before running the script just contains the executable which I transferred before running the batch file, there are no errors shown and as far as I can see it reports everything ok, but there are no DLL's transferred to the deploy folder. The folder install contains:

                @KroMignon , the target executable is 32 bit, running a 32 bit executable on a 64 bit OS is not an issue, however when I try to access the 32 bit windeployqt application I get:
                67bc1b92-6e3c-4f89-9fb9-363fa49ce472-image.png
                The environment variable from the batch file Qt5.9.2 is one used to reference windeployqt, but changing it to the 32 bit version doesn't work.

                        Very strange, I guess you have add Qt in the system/user PATH.
                        Have you tried this:

                          @SPlatten said in windeployqt, looks ok, but no files transferred:

                          I did exactly that and the result is that trying to run the 32bit version of windeployqt will not work, see the dialog image I posted which is a direct result of trying to run the 32bit version of windeployqt.

                          Very strange, I guess you have add Qt in the system/user PATH.
                          Have you tried this:

                          @echo off
                          @echo Qt Deployment
                          SET VCINSTALLDIR=C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 14.0\
                          SET QT5.9.2=C:\Qt\Qt5.9.2\5.9.2\msvc2015\bin\
                          call "%QT5.9.2%\qtenv2.bat"
                          %QT5.9.2%\windeployqt.exe --dir .\install .\deploy\trngServer.exe

                            @SPlatten I doubt this approach is going to work.
                            You should rather find out why the 32bit windwployqt.exe does not run.
                            Does qmake.exe from C:\Qt\Qt5.9.2\5.9.2\msvc2015 run?
                            Maybe try to disable anti virus software.

                              @KroMignon , this is now the content of the batch file:

                              @echo off

                              Okay, perhaps you should provide full path and not relative and add quotes to ensure it will work, event with spaces.
                              And please remove libdir and plugindir , this is to tell where the tool should write the used libraries/plugins (https://doc.qt.io/qt-5/windows-deployment.html)

                              %QT5.9.2%\windeployqt.exe --dir "%CWD%\install\" "%CWD%\deploy\trngServer.exe"

                                  I guess the reason why the 32 bit version is not running is because Qt 64 bit libraries are in PATH.
                                  By using CALL "%QT5.9.2%\qtenv2.bat", the right libs are in path.

                                      @SPlatten said in windeployqt, looks ok, but no files transferred:

                                      C:\Qt\Qt5.9.2\5.9.2\msvc2015_64\bin\windeployqt.exe

                                      Your are still using 64 bit version here. Why?
                                      Can you try this:

                                      @echo Qt Deployment
                                      SET VCINSTALLDIR=C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 14.0\
                                      SET QT5.9.2=C:\Qt\Qt5.9.2\5.9.2\msvc2015\bin\
                                      SET PATH=%QT5.9.2%;%PATH%
                                      %QT5.9.2%\windeployqt.exe --dir install\ deploy\trngServer.exe

                                      EDIT: I am using 32 bit version of windeployqt on Win7 64 bit and Windows 10 64 bit without any problem.

                                        @KroMignon, because as I've said numerous times, trying to run the 32bit version does not work.

                                        Kind Regards,

                                          Even when you add SET PATH=%QT5.9.2%;%PATH% in the batch script?
