hi,

I have made the qt symbian application (sis file) and i want to make homescreen widget for that. I come across to wrt in that I can make homescreen widget, but the confusion is now to how can I open my application by clicking on homescreen widget?

or is there any possibility to create homescreen widget in qt symbian (dynamic data on screen)

I found wrt only so asking for the opening sis from wrt homescreen

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    John

AFAIK Home screen api is currently available in Symbian only and not in Qt. A work around will be to create a wrapper home screen app and make it launch your Qt app.

Check the Symbian SDK on how to make use of Home Screen API in WRT. Use that to create a simple launcher.

Below wiki article shows how one can launch an app from the WRT

          ":http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.php/CS001162
          -_Launching_an_installed_application

I have never tried this. But this should work.
Buyer beware here, however. Creating a homescreen widget for S^3 requires you to have the RCVT compiler.

              No dice with GCCE!
Was not aware of this. Do you know of any more dependencies with RVCT compiler.
Not sure. I am not sure whether it was RCVT - if you want, I can post the discussion thread re this with the maintainer of the homescreen here...
I had faced certain issue in the past but then at that time using codesourcery's compiler worked.
Hi,
                  which SDK did you use?

My tests all took place with the S^3 0.,9 SDK, extended with some plugins...
With S^3 0.9 the GCCE compiler is updated. We had issues with the initial Beta SDK. Even N8 device available was a proto one.

hi, Sorry for delay I was out of station for some urgent.

I have tried the way QTK said, and that worked like a charm, thanx for that mate.

The only problem I am getting is I getting two icons for both application, I mean sis file and wrt file, The application is one , Is there any way I can remove one icon, or in other way to say is , Is there any way I not put the app icon in application folder?

                    Thanks.
