    Hi,

    Could someone from the Qt Company clarify the licensing of QtSolutions/QtWinMigrate?
    All the source code files contain a copy of the BSD license. But the README.TXT last history item is:

    2.8: - Misc. minor fixes.
         - LGPL release.

    That LGPL release confuses our legal department a lot.
    Would it be possible to update the README.TXT with an explicit statement that the library is BSD licensed?

    Thanks
    Igor

      Hi and welcome to devnet,

      Your legal department should contact the Qt Company directly. This is a user forum mainly run by volunteers and to the best of my knowledge, not monitored by the any person with legal authority especially from the Qt Company.

        I believe the "LGPL release" note refers to the time when all of Qt was made available under the LGPL (Jan 2009):

        • https://www.qt.io/blog/2009/01/14/nokia-to-license-qt-under-lgpl

        About 2 years later, it was announced that Qt Solutions would be deprecated and re-licensed under the BSD (Nov 2010):

        • https://www.qt.io/blog/2010/11/09/qt-4-7-1-and-qt-mobility-1-1-0-released

        They must have updated the code headers but forgot to update the README.

        @iggr said in QtSolutions/QtWinMigrate license:

        Would it be possible to update the README.TXT with an explicit statement that the library is BSD licensed?

        You can submit a patch to make that statement :)
