Solved error: Cannot run compiler 'g++'. Output:
-
Hi guys
I have installed Qt12.0 on windows and while building my program I am facing this error
:-1: error: Cannot run compiler 'g++'. Output:
how can I solve this issue?
-
Why aren't you using the default compiler that comes with your installation? Seems to me that you're mixing a 32 bit Qt build with 64 bit compiler - maybe that is the problem.
Hm or maybe you're not mixing it. Not sure, I haven't used WIndows in a long while, perhaps the 32 / 64 tags are just misleading me.
What does tootip say when you hover over the yellow warning sign in your second screenshot?

hi @sierdzio
-
When I installed my build setup was like this:
-
OK, go back to Qt Maintenance Tool, and add MinGW 64 bit (it's in Tools section if I remember it well, near where Qt Creator is). Also, while you're at it, update to Qt 5.12.1, it's a much better release.
-
ok thanks I ll do it..
-
hi @sierdzio
MinGW7.3.0 64 is already installed
-
Hm, then it should just work :/ Try reinstalling perhaps?
-
Its the second time I reinstalled it...
Is it because of environment variables or something...? -
No idea, sorry.
-
Hi,
Did you try to install both 32 and 64 bit versions ?
There might have been an error in the installer text.
-
@SGaist I ll try installing Mingw 7.3.o 32-bit and 64 bit both..
-
At the same time ?
