Using Qt Creator with custom ninja rules

Hello,
is it possible to use Qt Creator with a project that has its own custom generator of ninja build rules, without CMake? I could try to extend the generator to provide necessary metadata for QtCreator - are they documented somewhere?

What kind of generator is that ?

It's a project-specific generator, in fact just a perl script. Currently it produces a couple of build.ninja files for Debug, Release etc. If QtCreator needs something else besides the ninja rules, and the format of this something is documented somewhere, it would hopefully be easy to extend the generator script.
