I'll show you the suggestion. I would like to see "pages 1-10" opened in the "window".

    alt text

and I would like a link in the "window" to the next widget in this window (page3a)

    alt text

@caca0o And what is the problem? If you do not want to use QStackedWidget or QTabWidge then do the following: connect a slot to each button on the left side, in each slot create and show the widget this button is supposed to show and put this widget inside the window.

@caca0o Well, if you put widget_2 under widget when it is like this.
That's why QStackedWidget and QTabWidge were suggested, but for some reason you don't want to use any of them...
With your approach you need to do it in a different way: you crate two separate widgets (outside of main window!), and then put the one which is needed at runtime into your main window.

              • then there are not the arrows at the top right

The small arrows to navigate the pages are ONLY shown in Designer.
When app is run, they are not shown as you are expected to handle the navigation
by other means. (your own buttons etc)

ok thank you for all the help you have done for me. in this topic I have about the last question.
is it going to link QT with sql?

for example. if I wanted to make a login, fill in the name, year of birth, etc. and "select one item from 30" from database in sql. and then you open gui according to what you "select one item from 30"? if you disagree with the description in more detail

Please, take the time to search the documentation. Qt provides its SQL module.

There's no "Qt SQL". As written before, Qt has the SQL module which provides plugin for various database systems available like PostgreSQL, SQLite, MySQL etc. Taking a look at the module documentation, and more specially the SQL Database Drivers chapter would have answered that question.

By the way, it's Qt, QT stands for Apple's QuickTime which is likely not what you want to use.

Because it's up to you to setup your system with PostgresSQL, MySQL or whatever database system you want/need that is supported by Qt.

SQLite doesn't required any external stuff as it's using a file for the database itself.

Take a look at the module and classes documentation as well as the examples. They use SQLite so developers don't need to install anything special to run them.

I would like to work on the introductory menus. when I have a button start game and then select options etc. do I have to do it as new sources? here is probably not the stacked widget.

Don’t try to fit everything in one widget. That would end up a sort of Frankenmonster.

Take the time to cut your application in logical pieces. Then write your widgets.
