Unsolved QtWebKit - cannot build qtwebkit-static for static 4.8.x or 5.5.1
-
Hello,
I am trying to build qtwebkit-static for either static 4.8.x or 5.5.1 on Mingw32.
I have tried to apply several patches I found on the web but nothing is
working. The created libs and prt files won't work.Is there anybody out there who got it working and can provide me with the precompiled files?
Theoretically I only need to replace the libs *.a files and *.prt files.
I am going nuts because I can't get it running. Everything else worked fine. Please help thank you :)

@AZimmerer You can get static packages of QtWebKit 5.212 in MSYS2 repositories

I downloaded several versions but they don't seem to be static. The QtWebKit lib is only ~5 megs but it should be > 60 megs. Can you point me to the package
-
Sorry, indeed static package is missing there
-
@Konstantin-Tokarev Can't you upload the static versions of qtwebkit-5.212.0 on to your Github account? Theoretically I only need to copy them into the Qt-libs folder?
-
Sorry, I'm not using Windows and don't generally do static builds
-
Hi,
IIRC, QtWebKit static builds were disabled a long time ago because it was triggering symbol clashes.
-
There was symbol clash with QtScript, but it is not used by QtWebKit since a long time. A few people succeeded in making static builds on Windows, however getting linking right is not trivial
