Hi guys I am new to qt I decided to try download qt,its something that has interested me for a long time but only now am I getting into it anyway
I downloaded qt for windows and after about 5-6 hours the download finished well just about finished it downloaded all the qt sdk and then at 99% it gave me an error so it didn't complete fully,I don't want to sit and wait for another 6 hours so I'm wondering is my installation still ok to use?
the qt creator will open but when I open it a dialog box with this message appears
Plugin initialization failed: The maintenance tool at "C:\Qt/MaintenanceTool.exe" is not an executable. Check your installation.
also it says in the console window below that my c and c++ compilers differ

should the installation take 6 hours?
the weird thing is code seems to compile and run fine

Hi and welcome to devnet,
The download can be long depending on the selection you made and you internet connection speed. The installation itself should not unless you have a very loaded system running low on resources.

hey guys should I noticed there is a .new at the end of maintenencetool.exe should I delete the .new extension?

Looks like something didn't work properly... Anyway, yes, you can do that.
