Make the Display Grey(Inactive)

I want to include a functionality in my Qt through which I can make the Display Grey(INACTIVE) on click of some button.
Also I want to get the display back to Active State upon Second Click of that Button.INACTIVE means none of the button on display should be available to press.
In a way such that Display Screen becomes grey and the brightness decreases to indicate that the display is now INACTIVE.Can I please get Help on same.

I am Trying the same for SINUMERIK 840 d PCU as well as TCU.

Be it any Hardware or Not, is it possible by anyway even on our PCs
