Whenever I use lupdate it shows:

The application exited with code 1(Exit code 1)
    <unspecified return code>

Also a new translation file is unable to create.

@mittal_aakarsh On which platform? What is the Qt version? How did you install Qt?

            Not that I know.
You can try to disable anti virus software if you use any.

              Hi,

Does it start at all or is it stopped after doing something ?

Getting following error when compiling .ts file in QT 5.9.2.

                --- (lupdate)
--- WARNING: Project ERROR: Cannot run compiler 'cl'. Maybe you forgot to setup the environment?

It opens the old .ts file only.If I use lupdate it shows this error.

                  That is unrelated to lupdate.,

That error usually comes when installing Qt for Visual Studio without having installed Visual Studio.

It was working fine with qt 4.8. With 5.9 its showing this.
                    Installations are done fine.

Then please give more information about your installation:

                      • What version of Qt 4.8 ?
                      • What compiler for Qt 4.8 ?
                      • What version of Qt 5.9 ?
                      • What compiler for 5.9 ?

There is a bug opened and looks like the VS Addin is a problem. It is being looked at and hopefully, the new build (not sure when) will have the bug fixes.
                        https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTVSADDINBUG-493

The comments have some explanation and also a link to the workaround.
