Unsolved Qt Creator (debugging) how to view CFStrings?
-
i've googled but can't find any reference to how to view a CFString.
in Xcode the native formatter "just works", i suppose i expected that in the Qt debugger?any ideas?

@davecotter Qt does not have any debuggers, Qt is a C++ framework. Not even QtCreator has any. QtCreator uses existing debuggers. Which one depends on the platform and compiler. On Linux it is GDB for example. I don't know what is used as debugger on MacOS - I guess lldb? Can you check in the settings which compiler is used in your QtCreator?

please try to reach for my meaning.
Yes, i'm on a mac, using whatever the default settings are, looks like LLDB according to prefs->build&run->debuggers, or could be GDB according to prefs->debuggers (gdb is the only tab). but i am not sure how that helps?
thanks

@davecotter I understand what you mean, I just want to point out that you should use correct wording.
If you know what debugger is used you can, for example, check whether there are any known issues like yours here: https://bugreports.qt.io/projects/QTCREATORBUG/issues/QTCREATORBUG-18608?filter=allopenissues
If not you can file a bug there.
