Unsolved Right-Click Error inside QT Creator
-
As a new QT developer, I was pursuing a basic Hello World example but when right-clicking on the button I had created in the Design view in order to connect it to code, I was instead bumped out to the Edit view. In fact, upon further testing, it seems that QT Creator is somehow misinterpreting/ignoring all of my right-clicks anywhere inside the program UNLESS I initiate the click when QT Creator is not actually in focus (ie, if I have a different application open and holding focus, and right-click out of it into QT Creator, it seems to function fine. As soon as I click off the context-menu though, I return to right-click being inoperable.)
I've spent the last several days installing QT Creator and do not think I will do so again. If need be I'll just use the silly hack I found of using another window to enable right-clicks, but surely there must be a way to fix this. Note that the right-click works properly everywhere else I've tried it. My "mouse" is just a laptop keyboard, nothing fancy, and hasn't ever been changed.
QT Creator version is listed as 4.3.1, based on Qt 5.9.1 (GCC 7.10, 64 bit). Computer is running Windows 8.1 Pro.
I've seen two other complaining about seemingly the same issue in posts here from '15, but no answers were ever given to them on how to fix this. Anyone have some ideas/solutions?

Hi and welcome to devnet,
You should consider testing Qt Creator 4.4 beta to see if it still happening. If so, then you should take a look at the bug report system to see it it's something known.
