    On Linux, when Qt is installed in a read only location( e.g. /opt/qt ), Qt Creator offers to copy the example to another location when clicking on it ( and conveniently, as on windows, opens the help for this example). On windows it opens the example in the installed location and tries to write to ".pro.user" when configuring which, of course, it can't.
    Is there an option somewhere to enable this linux functionality or do I have to manually find the example and copy it to a writeable location ?

    My Systems:
    Windows 10 - 64 bit
    Ubuntu Gnome 17.04

    About Qt Creator Dialog:

    On Windows:
    Qt Creator 4.2.2
    Based on Qt 5.8.0 (MSVC 2015, 32 bit)
    Built on Apr 3 2017 04:13:59
    From revision 991f5eb6a5

    On Ubuntu Gnome 17.04:
    Qt Creator 4.2.2
    Based on Qt 5.8.0 (GCC 5.3.1 20160406 (Red Hat 5.3.1-6), 64 bit)
    Built on Apr 3 2017 04:08:21

      @Henrik-Jensen I don't know of any option for that.
      Most probably it is not implemented for Windows. You could create a change request for that.

        @jsulm: thanks for the suggestion.
        I created a change request here.
