If you would like to help improve the AddIn for Visual Studio 2017 you should rather take a look at the bug report system.

Seems there is a bug within Qt Tools for 2017. There is possibility to use package anyway:
- unpack content of qt-vsaddin-msvc2017-2.1.1-beta.vsix - this is just zip archive ;
- it should be unpacked with error (notify about missing/corrupted stdafx.h);
- repack unpacked content back to the archive (with *.vsix extension);
- now it can be installed... but qt project's creation does not work (visual studio will be hang while attempt to create new Qt's project ).

the issue was caused by an wrong checksum inside the package. We have uploaded a new beta version to the downloads page some minutes ago, though it might be visible first after short synchronization period. Link
