QModbusMaster example

Hi,
i want to learn about the QModbus class and started the modbus master example (tcp type)

In this example the connectDevice() function always returns true by any set host. I tested the QModbusTcpClient class also in my own code. The function always return true.

As i understood the documentaton, the function should only returns true, if the connecton established successfully, otherwise false.

So is there a bug, or do i miss understand the function?

I use the precompiled libraries (Qt5.6.0) for MSVC 2013.

That module being pretty new, I'd recommend posting this question on the interest mailing list. You'll find there Qt's developers/maintainers ( this forum is more user oriented)

Yeah i see that the QSerialBus module is marked as technical preview.
What does this exactly means?

It means that it's a working module that you can try and test but there's no guaranty that the public API will not change in the next version based on the feedback of the testers.
