    Hi,

I am interested by knowing the actual status of using Qt build with Clang under Windows.

Actually we have a lot of issues with mingw :

    • precompiled headers are limited in size
    • unity build is also limited in size
    • will certainly not support modules import
    • slow compilation

IMO as Windows support will be better with Clang than with mingw it would be interesting to make it default compiler under Windows.

      Hi,

To the best of my knowledge there is no status.

Looking at the current status of Clang on Windows, I'd say it's not yet ready to become a reference platform for Qt.

However, to have a more definitive answer, you should rather ask this on the interest mailing list. You'll find there Qt's developers/maintainers (this forum is more user oriented)

Latest VS2015 updates support clang as a frontend compiler as an optional replacement for cl1.
Does someone know - any plan to support this in Qtc?

Like I already wrote, the interest mailing list is a better place to ask this. This forum is mainly user oriented and that's the kind of question that the developers/maintainers can answer.
