I have the same problem. Error is "Network error while downloading target ... Error: SSL handshake failed."

After that, when I go to "Settings->Repositories" I have a few dozen of entries in the table. When using the "Test" button some are successful, but some fail. When failing on the test button, I get following message:

There was an error during connection to: https://download.qt-project.org/online/qtsdkrepository/mac_x64/desktop/tools_generic/Updates.xml.
The issuer certificate of a locally looked up certificate could not be found, The root CA certificate is not trusted for this purpose

Both Safari and Chrome don't complain on the certificate in the link above.

    I have MacOSX 10.10.3, Xcode 6.3.

Link in the post of "wally123" is broken.

Any hints how to fix that?

        Hi,

tilte of the thread is "[solved] Installer certificate problem"
actually located close to this thread in [ Home Qt Development Installation and Deployment [solved] Installer certificate problem ]

Seems to work on OS X but I get old data. I already have 1.0.8 package installed and I get data for 1.0.7

          Imgur

UPDATE: The official Updates.xml was updated the 8th of April and reports an old version of Qt (2014-11-17). Some ack or error in upload procedure in the trolls home??

This seems to be a problem related to 10.10.3

I found a bug report for that

could be but I'm wondering why the official Updates.xml seem to be out of date. And also in other platform users had the same issue.

I don't know if is related but in the last weeks the download URL changed (from qt-project to qt.io); some SSL certificate to rebuild??

My reply was confusing. The SSL error seems to be clearly related to the bug report

The outdated info you get might well be something else.

I get the SSL error on both a new mac that I'm trying to set up and my current mac when running "update components" on my current installation. Both on 10.10.3.

                      thx, but (url) ?
where to upload the image ?
i assume local PC url is not very smart, right
does the forum offer a upload possibility ?

Sorry folks, I forgot to mark this post as solved.

I took the easy way out, I have a high speed connection and downloaded the entire installation file and installed Qt offline.

                            It worked great.

Now I have a running Qt on my shiny new mac.

Thank you all for the replies.
