Hey all, just downloaded QtCreator and I'm trying to run some examples, but I've been having trouble with errors. This is the most recent one and all the google results just aren't helping me.

    Here's the full error:
    @
    dyld: Library not loaded: /Users/bld.qt/bamboo-agent-home/xml-data/build-dir/DQTC-RELEASE5LGPL-OSX106/PADDING/lib/QtWidgets.framework/Versions/5/QtWidgets
    Referenced from: /Users/<bleh>/Qt5.0.1/5.0.1/clang_64/examples/widgets/widgets/codeeditor-build-Desktop_Qt_5_0_1_clang_64bit-Debug/codeeditor.app/Contents/MacOS/codeeditor
    Reason: image not found
    @

Anyone have any clue how to fix this?

    Thanks

I'm seeing the same problem. Qt 5.2.1 on Mavericks. I didn't have xcode installed, so it wouldn't compile. Fixed that, but now it won't run, I just picked the first example (application).

I used the otools -l command on the executable, it's looking in /Work/... for QtWidgets library. That directory doesn't exist. There's apparently an install tool for pointing it to the real location (once I find that...), but I'm thinking each library might have the same problem. It might be better to uninstall and re-install, maybe it didn't complete the first time. Recommendations?

There's so many steps, from setting the compiler to the kit to telling the project what kit to use (and none of it uses names that are understandable). I'm an experienced programmer, but this sets a new level for inscrutable setups. At least it has nice friendly buttons...

Update: I used the maintenance tool to uninstall, then re-installed it. Did the basic steps like before, this time it worked. It might be that it wants xcode in place beforehand in order to set up the tools properly.

        Hi and welcome to devnet,

Indeed, Xcode must be properly installed before installing Qt. Without it, the needed tools like install_name_tool will be missing and the installation fail. It also provide all what is needed to develop on OS X (compiler etc.)

Okay, thanks SGaist. That seems to be lacking or hidden in the setup information, you would think the install program could look for it as well and give a proper notification of the problem.

            You're welcome !

This information can be found in the "documentation":Developing Qt Applications for Mac OS X

But a warning from the installer looks like a good idea since you are not the only one affected.

You can have a look at the "bug report system":http://bugreports.qt-project.org and if you find nothing related open a feature request for that
