Error:QT creator needs a compile set to build
-
Hi there, I just downloaded the newest version of QT 5.3
When I tried to run the program, an error popped up.
When I went to Tool-Options-Run&Build
It appears that I have 6 compilers:
Desktop QT 5.3 MSVC 2013 32/64 bit
Desktop QT 5.3 MinGw 32
Qt 5.3 For windows runtime 64.
Yet, they all have a red sign in front of them.
Could someone help me fix this?
Thanks -
Please check whether kits, Qt Versions and Compilers are set properly under "Tools->Options->Build & Run".
- Check whether "Qt Versions" is showing appropriate Qmake path.
- Check the compiler paths under "Compilers"

Hi and welcome to devnet,
6 Qt versions, but not compilers.
Since you installed the MSVC Pakages, do you have Visual Studio 2013 installed ?

Hi, there
first, thanks for the reply
but I don't quite understand what you meant by "showing appropriate Qmake path". Could you elaborate on that?
I check the QT version, and all the packages I have have a red sign except for DESKTOP 5.3 MINGW. What does this imply?

Thanks for the reply
but when you said Visual Studio 2013, did you refer to the Visual Studio program by Microsoft or just the package which is provided by QT?
And I did install the Visual Studio 2013 distributable from Microsoft

Yes, the Visual Studio suite from Microsoft. However it's best to have it installed prior to Qt for the auto detection to work correctly.
