How can i create shortcut icons on Application launcher and desktop on linux
-
Hi and welcome to devnet,
This question is way to generic and outside of this forum scope, you need to ask this on the forum dedicated to the distribution you are using or the desktop environment(s) you are targeting
-
Sorry i want to know how to target a file inside the data folder to a specific folder
ie. my application to the installation path specified by the user and some files like icons or a symbolic link of the application to another folder.
-
That one I didn't understand
-
As far as i know Qt installer copies all the files in the data folder of package into the user selected target folder
i want to make some files in data folder of package copied to a different location
can you help me how to do it
-
That depends on the installer framework you are going to use, so I can't really help you there. You have to go through the documentation
-
:'-( :'( I am using Qt Installer Framework :(
-
found it here
http://qt-project.org/doc/qtinstallerframework-1.5/operations.htmlbut should i check differently for linux and mac like this?
@
if (installer.value("os") === "win") {
component.addOperation("CreateShortcut", "@TargetDir@/MyApp.exe", "@StartMenuDir@/MyApp.lnk");
}
@shall try and see where i will reach :)
-
Sure you need to check, also note that on OS X you don't create "link" but you may add your application to the Dock

Hi,
I am stuck in OS X icon, can you give me some idea.if i install the application to /Applications Path all the files will be there,
is installing the application to /Applications path a good choice?
how can i create a shortcut using the
"CreateShortcut" operation of Qt Installer Framework?

On OS X you create a bundle that contains everything that is needed and put that bundle in Application. OS X users don't expect shortcuts
