Error in mingw32 -make command [SOLVED]
-
I am trying to make a project in windows. I have installed Qt with mingw
firstly I enter qmake -project
then qmake (project pro file)
after that when i enter mingw32-makeit shows errors which are
undefined reference to qmain( int , char **)
and the second one is recipe for target 'release' failes ( which i presume is due to the first error )kindly help me in this regard

Hi and welcome to devnet,
What does your project contain ?
-
My project is a simple GUI made in the form section, mainwindow.ui. i have also included the header and cpp file of customplot.
-
Can you show your pro file ?
By the way, since you installed the Qt mingw package, why don't you use QtCreator ? Specially on windows, it simplifies life a lot

Thank you brother :). I just made run qmake and then wrote make in the DOS window. After that, i put in around 10 -12 missing DLLs and now the executable file is working. However, i dont know if i have to compile it again in another OS or would it run perfectly in other OS like linux...?
-
No it won't, you have to compile it for the other platforms too. For linux a virtual machine is sufficient, for OS X you need a Mac computer

Ok thanks a lot sir.

You're welcome !
For deployment, have a look at the various guides in the documentation, they provide good informations on how to do it.
