Accessibility of the QT installer
-
Hello,
I'm a blind programmer, and want to use the QT framework in Visual studio for accessible applications, with assestive technologies like screenreader
But I have a problem with the installer for QT. The installer is completely inaccessible for screenreaders.
I use Jaws and NVDA. The only way to read the text into the setup is to use a OCR software, but my screenreaders also cant find any buttons for "next" etc.
Any help for me? Is it possible to make the installer more accessible for blind programmers?Best regarts
Maik

Hi and welcome to devnet,
You should write this directly to the "interest mailing list":http://lists.qt-project.org/mailman/listinfo/interest, you'll find there Qt's maintainers/developers (this forum is more user oriented) don't forget to first register.

Hi,
many thanks for your quick answer and this information.
I will contact the QT developers in this list. -
Either that or file a bug report at https://bugreports.qt-project.org/ .

Hi Tobias,
thank you for the link.
Is it better to send a bug-Report, a Feature-request or to contact the developers directly? What is your experience? -
Hi Mole,
I believe a Digia staff member has seen your mailing list post and already created a report at https://bugreports.qt-project.org/browse/QTBUG-34296
Generally, send a bug-report if something is not working as advertised, but send a feature-request if something is not implemented. Contacting the developers directly is less efficient because email isn't specifically designed for tracking reports/requests.
