Lost project templates when upgrading Creator
-
I had the current full SDK package which includes Creator 2.7. I downloaded just the Creator 2.8 at the request of of the folks at the bug tracker to test if my reported bug is in the most recent version. The bug is replicable when using one of the built-in project templates, the built-in elements (QT Quick 2 template), however after installing Creator 2.8 and putting it in the same SDK directory as my previous version (on Mac, the .app file), my File -> New Project does not show any of the normal application starter templates.
Is there a way to get them back? If I load the old .app file from 2.7 they are still there.

Hi and welcome to devnet,
Just a quick idea, did you configure your new QtCreator with the same kit as the old one ?
Hope it helps

Looks like that was it. Can you (or anyone) confirm that the correct way to do this is to go to Creator > Preferences > Qt Versions and add the path to the "qmake" binary. Then, go to the Kits tab and add a new kit using this Version that is then listed. Is that right, or is there anything else?

No, IFAIK, you have it right

Looks like it wasn't enough, see attached. Upgrading Creator isn't a picnic.

Sorry, I didn't encounter this error yet. But not all warnings are stopper
