Anyway: I don't think there is much enthusiasm in the web team anymore for more regional sub forums.
I am afraid that several people left the web team and at the moment in my opinion the team does not have enough resources to support all groups and forums.

So, what do you think that word means then, exactly?

That it's all about connection, and not separation.

And how does that match with having a regional group (in a language few people in the community speak) match with that, then?

It splits up the community, don't you think? Best example is YouTube, which used to be a great place for international exchange back in 2007. Today, it's totally separated. The german YouTube main page looks nothing like the US YouTube (content-wise), and so do the comments. Everything back to regional topics and boundaries.
Don't get me wrong, everyone is free to do whatever he likes and if people want regional groups, go ahead. But I personally think this is against the internet's spirit.

I think we are in agreement then. To me, it just wasn't clear what argument you were making in the first place. :) Thanks for clarifying.

Don't worry, it's just that we sometimes get a bit carried away in our discussions ;)
