    Hi,

I'm after some help in getting a version of qt running on jelly bean. I've recently purchased a nexus 7 and have been wanting to study c++ at home own pace without been tied down to a table using a laptop.

    Thank you

      welcome to devnet

You mean you like to do C++ and Qt development on a nexus 7 with jelly bean?

Check out the community port of Qt to Android called "KDE Necessitas project":http://necessitas.kde.org/ It will be "merged in newer versions of Qt 5":http://qt-project.org/wiki/Qt5ForAndroid.

@koahnig, I'm looking at using qt to study c++. Developing qt is a bit out of my league at this moment.

I'm not particularly bothered which version of Qt that I use.

@Leon, how easy is necessitas get up and running?

            My question relates to this
[quote author="toasty" date="1366460916"]... have been wanting to study c++ at home own pace without been tied down to a table using a laptop.

It looks like to you want to learn C++ programming on the nexus device without a laptop. AFAIK that is not possible.

Certainly necessitas will not help you to do programming on an android device.

You will have to install necessitas on a desktop or laptop and do the programming on this device. necessitas help you to create application you can deploy on an Android device. However, you need the laptop or desktop for doing the work.

there are a couple of people around using necessitas. Probably you should give it a try.

It would be nice to do c++ programming solely on my nexus.

I will have to give necessitas a try when I get home to my laptop.

Thanks for the help and I'm sure I will need more as I begin my journey
