Call to QGeoPositionInfoSource::startUpdates crashes the device
-
Hi,
I recently had to revisit an old Qt/Symbian project. It was mainly developed and tested on Symbian^3 device C7, now this particular device has been updated to Symbian Anna.
The application used to run perfectly well without any issues. Now however, a call to QGeoPositionInfoSource::startUpdates crashes the device completely.
I've installed Qt 4.7.4 and QtMobility 1.2.1 for Symbian Anna on the device.
Is this a know issue or is it just me? Any help will be appreciated!
Best regards,
Eeli -
My open-source GPLv3 application "location2sms":http://store.ovi.com/content/168861 runs successfully on Symbian^3, Symbian Anna and Nokia Belle. It relies on an algorithm which is similar to "one that I posted at this wiki article":http://qt-project.org/wiki/Retrieve_Location_Using_Qt_Mobility. Check the article to see an example usage of Qt Mobility class QGeoPositionInfoSource.

I know how to use the API, my problem is that a call to the API crashes the program and the device.

Have you tried the same source code on another device with Symbian Anna? I recommend you to use "Nokia Remote Device Access":http://www.developer.nokia.com/Devices/Remote_device_access/ for testing.
