On the other hand, we can code for Android, which has majority of the market now :) And there is iOS post, which gives us even more market to aim at. And, last but not least, WP7 NDK is probably going to come in mid 2012.
I have only a small problem :)
I don't like Java.
I don't know Objective-C.
And in WP7-NDK which C++ will we have?:
MFC (oouuhhhh)?
WinForms?
WinRT (this is a very new thing again...)?

I've done some apps for Android without writing a single line in Java. I don't know the state of iOS port, so I can't say too much on that. It's still a QPA port, so most probably no or almost no Objective-C is needed.

@WP7 - C++ itself as the base, whatever you want on top. There is an ongoing poll on WP7 forum about Qt support, it's getting quite popular, and it was started by MS itself.

No need to complain, really. No need to be too angry at Nokia, too. Their resources aren't infinite, and well, their bosses do make their decisions, and will see the consequences. That's the beauty of the market economy - some day we will see, whether that was a good decision or not. Even if they would fail, Qt will live on. Trolls working on Qt are definitely investing 100% of their time into Qt, you can clearly see that if you watch amount of commits in all Qt repositories.

I have programmed several years in Java, IMHO C++ is much better.
QPA port is only in basic state, as I know.
I can't belive in MS :)
And yes, I'm angry. Nokia made/make completely different decisions every half a year. This is annoying! They will lost our reliance. I see nothing clear line into the future...
I invested a lot of time in Qt, I have read several books, I've done all the 3 exams. At the end of this, the Nokia announced that they will propose the WP7 platform :(

Well, I won't help you with your depression ;) at leas not on this forum. Sure, I'd love to see Nokia financing and implementing Qt on Android, iOS, WP, but this is not happening. Situation was/ seemed grim or even gave a year ago, true, but currently, I'm happy with how things are going. Community is kicking in, Trolls are still Trolls, Qt5 is progressing beautifully forwards, even RIM has Qt port now... no worries :D

Right, I think that's enough for an OT, let's allow others to continue their talk on Tizen.

Hmmm... interesting. It "seems":http://www.forbes.com/sites/elizabethwoyke/2012/01/13/samsung-merging-its-bada-os-with-intel-backed-tizen-project/ Samsung is merging Bada into Tizen as well.

I think people here would be interested if there is Qt support on Tizen. Why should we be interested in html 5 ? Personally I was also interested in native development with EFL. But the slides are all about HTML5.

I found the presentations interesting and useful although their are not Qt related. I think that HTML5 has a bright future and in my opinion it worth sharing information about it here at the lounge.

Yes HTML 5.0 has a bright future. As it stands now, even a native sdk is not supported on Tizen. Just a web sdk. That will probably change if the platform gets popular. Seems Tizen is more of a backup plan for Samsung. In case Google ...

This process is now obsolete because Tizen is no longer using SBS :

http://www.mail-archive.com/general@lists.tizen.org/msg00274.html

No Tizen is moving from deb to rpm and SBS to OBS.
Tizen 1.0 : deb + SBS
Tizen 2.0 : rpm + OBS

Time to get an OBS account.

As most of you probably know ten days ago on 18 February 2013 "Tizen 2.0 Magnolia was released":https://www.tizen.org/blogs/tsg/2013/tizen-2.0-magnolia-sdk-and-source-code-release. "Tizen SDK for Windows, Ubuntu and Mac OS":https://developer.tizen.org/downloads/tizen-sdk was also released on the same date. The biggest changes related to app development is the native framework which allows to create apps using C++. Samsung has merged Bada inside Tizen so the native framework in pretty similar to Bada APIs.
