Can phonon gstreamer backend use playbin2 not decodebin?

Hi, I'm developing Qt phonon mediaplayer on STI7108, a set top box chip. I run demos/qmediaplayer on embedded linux. But as the st gstreamer plugin use different source-sink pad, it can not play any media file. ST said playbin2 can work. But i check the phonon/gstreamer code, it use decodebin not playbin2. So i'd like to know if it can change to use playbin2. Hope it is not too difficult to do. Thanks.
