    I cross-compiled Qt5.6 with gstreamer0.10 as QtMultimedia backend.
It works for audio but not for video, because it doens't find any suitable video sink.
I haven't X running so I'm looking for an OpenGL video sink.

Not sure if I need to swtich to gstreamer-1.0 (and recompile the whole Qt5...)

Look here and here. It seems that this bug is still unresolved.

@tomasz3dk I'm trying to compile gstreamer-1.8.2 from sources. I hope they fixed the bug otherwise it's impossible to play a video without X?

If it isn't fixed probably you can't play video with qtmultimedia without X, but maybe i'm wrong (i hope so). May i ask which platform do you use for your project?

@tomasz3dk Raspberry Pi3 with Debian Jessie. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only guy on the Earth who needs to play video without X :) I'm confident there is a way!

Yes you are not alone. I had same problem but on older versions of raspberry. On raspberry you can use omxplayer to play video. Of course if this solution is good enough for you.

@tomasz3dk yes, I'm already use omx-player but I'm not able to embed a video into a QML application.

                    Hi

                    Same like here.
I am struggling to embed a video (*.mp4) on a qml application.

                    Please suggest if solution available.

                      Hi,

Not a direct answer but maybe the QtGStreamer might be an option.

                      Hope it helps
