QtCreator in Virtual Box with Win7 for Symbian device build/debug

  • Here is the scenario ..

    I have installed Ubuntu 11.04.
I installed VirtualBox with Windows 7 and installed Qt SDK 1.3 in it.

Since I have to build and debug for Symbian device, I am using Windows in VirtualBox. But the device is not getting recognized. I installed Nokia Ovi Suite also. What I would like to know is about a way in which Qt Creator recognizes Symbian device ,preferably via wi-fi (wireless connection). Is CODA any use?

If any one has tried the similar setup and faced the same problem please share how you solved it.

  • I'm having the exact same problem. Did you solve it?

  • Yes, You have to install CODA in your device. And run in your device. By default, it will be set to connect through usb. change it to WiFi.

EDIT : I have n't tried on a virtul box anytime. So, not sure about the connectivity.

  • Worked like a charm, thanks!
