    I am aware of how to solve this problem initially...I can go to tools->options->environment and deselect the "auto-save modified files". This worked for about 30 minutes and then the problem started again and I have no idea what else to do. When I look in the project directory, I can see every time I try to save my changes to a header file or cpp file, extra files with odd extensions are created (e.g. filename.cpp.jsyGEY). I can delete them but they reappear.

    UPDATE: I closed Dropbox and I can now save again. I am not sure if this is the solution to the problem, seeing how I was able to edit and save changes for a while before this problem arose.

    Thank you,
    I just want to code

        @Devopia53 I am using Dropbox. Did I miss a previous comment? They way you asked the question makes it seem like someone told me to use google drive?

          @Garrett

          If you are using the file synchronization, a conflict may occur.
