I ran into the same problem using Qt for Mac and Snow Leopard 10.6.8. I got around it by reinstalling XCode (presumably this reinstated some missing C++ libraries). I installed Xcode 3 (Xcode and iOS SDK.mpkg) which is available for download from the apple developer site:

      http://developer.apple.com/xcode/

After that I installed Qt SDK version 1.1.2 and everything worked fine:

      http://qt.nokia.com/downloads/sdk-mac-os-cpp

      Hope that helps!
