Hi,
are you sure you would like to use QWebView for that? If not - I use Poppler library to load, render to image displayed on a label and extract data from PDF documents. It has Qt bindings, requires some work to setup but works like a charm.

But did you install a PDF viewer on the pc ?
It can also mean it has no idea on what to call to display it.
